BARCELONA SHOWS INTEREST IN DROGBA
World football giant Barcelona FC are ready to make a bid for Ivory Coast and Chelsea FC striker Didier Drogba on a free transfer after his UEFA Champions’ League final game against Bayern Munich on Saturday May 19, 2012.
The Ivorian’s contract will end at Chelsea after Saturday’s champion league game, leaving him open to any transfer. The Spanish giants are ready to offer him a two-year-deal worth five million Pounds a year to keep him in Spain.
Drogba, 34, has publicly gained interest from Shanghai Shenhua F.C., home to his ex- team mate Nicolas Anelka.
AC Milan and LA Galaxy are also interested in the striker but an opportunity to play alongside world Lionel Messi could be a consideration for Drogba. Pundits also say new coach Tito vilanova believes he will be a good support for injured David Villa.
Meanwhile, his current team Chelsea are also offering the striker a new two-year deal with owner Roman Abramovich pulling out all the stops to keep him.
