The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, tweeted out photos of himself sitting up in a hospital bed Wednesday after being admitted for a stomach virus.
"I don't want to go into surgery," he wrote without explanation, along with a photo of him looking pensively out the window.
According to pal DJ Drama, however, the "In Da Club" rapper will likely make a rapid recovery and will be back on his feet in time to promote their mixtape, "Gangsta Grillz: The Lost Tape."
In fact, despite being forced to remain in bed, 50 Cent's sense of humor has remained firmly intact.
In one photo, the rapper is surrounded by stuffed animals that he claims Drama sent his way.
"I give 15 tracks you give me this," he jokingly tweeted
Drama told XXLMag.com that 50 Cent's team had originally wanted to keep his illness under wraps, but then decided it would be better to just let it all out.
"First they wanted to keep it quiet, but he's not a quiet guy," he told the website. "He should be cool. It's nothing that serious. We still gonna do our promo run stuff."
On Thursday, the rapper himself confirmed his speedy recovery.
"I'm feeling better today I think I'm gonna get out of the hospital soon," he wrote on Twitter. "Eminem called me last night I love him that's my boy."
